It began with a chocolate cake. Celia was busy being Mum to her four children when asked to make a chocolate cake. Her son Ed, who was 13 at the time, made it for her instead. From there, a flame was lit and Ed’s passion for baking began. Ed went on to make cakes for many local residents and supplied a local cafe during his A-Levels. In 2008, they started working together for a local business before deciding it was time to do it for themselves.
They opened Hunters Cake Cafe in Witney in May 2016 and haven’t looked back since.
The business has grown year on year with local and nationwide deliveries being added to the offering during the Covid-19 pandemic which are still in operation today.
In March 2022 Hunters Cakery opened in Burford selling the same cakes and bakes their customers know and love from Witney.
